The Lunch Box - by Odelette

Once, there was a gorgeous girl. Her name was Odie. Since her dad was king, they were happy! Until the first day of school, which was when things went ALL wrong.

It all started when she was walking peacefully to school, she was half an  inch off of school property, when a long string with a hook snatched her lunchbox! "Hey!" she yelled, fiercly. "That was 1,000 dollar", she stopped when she looked up. It was a string tied to a branch of a cypress tree! She tried to get it down, but she was too small. That was it. 1,000 dollars wasted. She walked sluggishly into the classroom.

"Today, for the first day of school, we will have lunch at the picnic tables." explained the teacher. They worked trough reading, and it was finally lunch! "I don't have anything to eat." Odie said to her friend, Maelin. "OK." Maelin replied carelessly.

Maelin wasn't a people person. She didn't understand people like Odie.

"Do you have anything you don't want?" asked Odie.

"Just a shrimp. Here." replied Maelin.

"Lunchtime's over class! Pack up ypur things and let's go!" Yelled the teacher. Odie believed a title for this lunch would be, The Shortest Lunch Ever.

When it was time for math, Odie tried to get her mind. What she needed to think of was who tied the string up there. Wait, why was she thinking about that? Oh well. It was social studies time. She had to put facts about the worlds tallest skyscraper into her mind.

After school, as always, her mom wanted to go to Walmart and buy shoes. They went to the right side of Walmart, the left side, when they heard lightning. "Let's go before it rains!" Her mom said.

When they got home, Odie had to write a story for her homework. She rode her bike to Micheals, to get more pencils in the wet, soaking rain. When she got home, she took a bath, then said hi to her dog. Her dog, Theo, went wild, smelling lavender soap. She hear a knock on the door. It was Maelin, holding her lunchbox!

"Here. I know Vincent did it. The string said his name on it." Maelin said.
"Thanks! " Said Odie. She was glad to receive her lunchbox. Maelin got on her bicycle.
"I added a little shrimp in there too! " She shouted.
